What a wonderful morning we had! Thanks to all the wonderful people who attended, and especially to Andrea and Monique, our two ex-participants, who brilliantly entertained us the morning.

Goeiedag FSA!

Ek was in 20062007 ‘n uitruilstudent. Na 6 jaar het my gassussie vir my kom kuier. Ons kom nog steeds net so goed oor die weg. FSA het ons gehelp om ‘n vriendskap te bou wat enige afstand en tyd kan weerstaan.

Baie dankie daarvoor.

I sent an email to all the participants that are going to attend our get-together on Saturday, asking that they must let know if anyone that would have come with, isn’t coming with any more.

The reaction was good. So we are busy letting the participants on the waiting list know that some of them can attend.

Thank you for the quick response!

Back to the work:

1. We are going to mail you the address book for the parents this afternoon.

2. Tomorrow we are going to mail the train connections to all the people that are going to travel by train.

Have a good afternoon!

The FSA team

All the flight tickets paid for until this morning had been issued and sent to the participants. Check your email.

Only two participants still have to receive their host family information.

Thanks to all the many participants and parents that read their circulars and react in time!

Late afternoon we sent out the host family information to 11 participants. We are so close to the end.

Guys, girls, our get-together in Pretoria this coming weekend: We are really sorry that we have to turn people away but … all had the same chance since early March to register for the get-together. Safety laws are safety laws and we have to adhere to it. 100 people may be in the room, no more.

If we’ve had early April such a rush of people that wanted to come we could have secured an even bigger venue. When we paid the venue  two weeks ago we had only 30 people that would have attended .

We are really sorry that the late-comers cannot be accommated.

Tickets: Have a look at the time-table. We are pressing the airline for the tickets but they are supposed to issue only on 16 May.

Speak to you soon again

Lodie

Hello Lodie and FSA family,

Two years ago I was one of the lucky students chosen to go to Germany during the December programme.

It was one of the best times of my life and I made friends for life.

I would like to say thank-you, my trip to Germany was my first time away from my family and it was difficult at times but in that time I grew up.

I matriculated at the end of 2011 with a bachelors pass and instead of going to university I chose to go on a gap year in South America working with NGO’s for children.

I am loving South America and having the time of my life (and learning Spanish).

I would never have had the courage to move to South America for one year had it not been for my experience with FSA.

Muchas Gracias,

Zola Mbinda

Hi Guys and Girls!

Some of you are getting worried because you haven’t received your host family information yet.

All the participants whose names have been published on our website have been placed with a family already. We may not release their names before they haven’t given us their approval. So, with you, I am sitting and waiting for the approvals.

Who says that everything in Germany is happening faster than here in Africa?
