While driving thousands of kilometres to interview all our applicants it happened that I crossed regions and plains filled with so much beauty. Here are a few photographs illustrating the beauty of our country.
What a pity that there wasn't sunshine and that I didn't have more time to go and discover the flower-filled plains and valleys of Namaqualand.
It remains a wonder how the barren Northern Cape can transform within a few days in a flower-covered paradise.
In Bushmanland everywhere were spots of colour that brightened up the winter plains.
In Calvinia I visited the "Vleisfees", a weekend festival where everything revolves around meat. Then I saw this board with "Peertjies". No, they didn't sell fruit as well ...
There was a procession of old tractors and cars, and the festival queen and princesses on the back of a truck.
And off to the next interviews.
